It is with sadness that I announce the suspension of all clinic sessions. I feel this is a necessary action for the benefit of those in elevated risk groups, the broader community, and myself.
I hope that all clients, past and present, remain safe and well over the coming months. With community solidarity (even if it has to be at a distance or virtually), we can get through this challenge.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Reflexology is a therapy that focuses mainly on feet, although some therapists also work on reflexes in the hands, ears and face. There are approximately 72,000 nerve endings in each foot, all which connect to other parts of the body. By reflexing these nerve endings and relieving congestion around them, an impulse is conveyed to a specific area of the body.
When a person is feeling ill, has low energy, is pregnant, or where a medical diagnosis is evident, the body’s homeostatic balance is compromised and requires assistance to recover. Circulation in the feet slows down and crystalline deposits (mostly of uric acid and excess calcium) form around the nerve endings, restricting impulse energy flow.
Utilising the reflexing techniques helps to stimulate these crystalline deposits and break them down, allowing reabsorption of ions into the blood and lymphatics and ensuring these nerve endings function efficiently. This results in pain relief, relaxation and revitalisation.
TREATMENTS: HOW CAN REFLEXOLOGY HELP YOU?
SKELETAL POSTURE CORRECTION
Office workplace environments are one of the major factors in developing sitting posture misalignments. Long periods of computer use (practically unavoidable these days) has such a negative impact that just this area alone accounts for a large increase in these misalignment issues.
A sitting posture can impact the spine, neck and shoulder muscles and cause fatigue, which can lead to headaches, neck / shoulder tension and / or chronic pain.
Occupations that require a lot of standing or walking can cause just as many postural misalignment issues. Long periods of standing or walking can result in lower back pain, shoulder and neck tension and aching feet.
Reflexology is able to address structural misalignment issues, which will help alleviate painful symptoms.
MATERNITY SYMPTOM RELIEF
Reflexology is a great non-invasive way to help with preparation for natural laboured births, including repositioning of baby (posterior, lateral, breach). As a gentle, supportive and active therapy, it provides relief, relaxation, and revitalisation to both mum and baby.
Pregnant clients at Reflex 2 Health present with a wide range of health issues related to their pregnancy and through reflexology have had great success in relieving these symptoms. Some of these symptoms include:
Swollen ankles and feet
Baby positional issues
Post-partum (post birth) recovery
With all the focus on the new baby, it is important to remember that the new mother needs cherishing and nurturing too.
The whole family can benefit from reflexology, either as a maintenance tool or as a complementary therapy in treating or managing an illness or health issue (physical or emotional). Reflexology sessions can start from as young as a few months old and can continue throughout childhood, adolescence, adulthood and senior years.
There are so many benefits to reflexology for people of all ages. Some of these benefits include:
Calming to improve sleep
Reducing restlessness and hyper-activity
Can alleviate headaches, toothaches
Helps to control cold and flu symptoms
For post surgery rehabilitation
Management of long term specific illness
(e.g. asthma, allergies, digestive discomforts)
Management of chronic illnesses
YOUR HEALTH & WELLBEING
Reflexology is one of only a few therapies that can holistically affect wellbeing.
Clients can use reflexology as an individual therapy, or in conjunction with other therapy programs from traditional and/or alternative medicine. It offers a non-invasive approach to health by influencing the body’s own healing pathway, providing tension release, relaxation and revitalisation.
Reflexology can be beneficial to a wide range of illnesses, from the physiological (muscular/skeletal) to emotional (anxiety support), and even chronic illnesses. Every reflexology session will be tailored to each client’s needs.
As part of an individual treatment program, sessions will be discussed to suit both the client’s health issue and also their expected outcomes.
Isn't it time you put your health and wellbeing first?
I became a professional reflexologist in March 2001 because I wanted to help people through illnesses and health issues by providing a fully holistic natural therapy as an alternative and supplement to mainstream medicine. My techniques include Auricular (Ear), Western and Chinese Reflexology styles, Acupressure, Daavid Method and Maternity Reflexology.
I focus on optimal outcomes from each and every treatment – whether seeking a reduction in pain, tension, discomfort, structural alignment or address specific maternity symptoms. Through assessing your situation and focusing on connections to corresponding body reflex points, results in a uniquely personalised treatment. My approach includes providing you with information to continue your own self care between treatments.
I believe that an integrative, holistic reflexology approach built on outcomes will transform my clients lives!
